Openings: Robert Williams – “In the Service of the Hypothetical” @ Tony Shafrazi Gallery

On Halloween night, Tony Shafrazi Gallery hosted the solo exhibition (previewed) of Low Brow icon Robert Williams. AM attended the long awaited return of the legendary figure — it was everything we hoped for and more! Many of the notables who made it out for last night’s Stages exhibition (here) were in attendance, along with some of art’s household names, who also came out to pay homage to one of the founding fathers of the movement.

Ever friendly and gracious, Robert took time to greet and sign for fans who came out in droves. With knockout colors and acerbic wit laced throughout his impressive display of paintings, sculptures and drawings, the show was a delight for all who attended. This is one of the must-sees if you happen to be in the NYC area.
