Mogul Damon Dash has successfully navigated the world of media and fashion for years from his Manhattan home base. Now, he’s turning his focus on the world of art. Last weekend, AM was on hand for the private opening of the Dash Gallery in the heart New York’s storied Tribeca district. The premiere show, curated by Gabriel Fortoul, featured artists Isaac Fortoul, Bobby Castaneda, Heather Gargon, Hector Ruiz, and Jeremy Wagner.

Some of hip hop culture’s finest were also in the house to experience the jaw dropping 3 story gallery space/recording studio which brings the flair and bling that we’ve come to expect from one of the trendsetters of the hip hop lifestyle. As we’ve seen before with the “Worlds on Fire” and “Who Killed the Music” grammy art shows, the world of music and art blend well together so we’re excited to see what this gallery may bring to the New York art scene.

Check out the opening night action after the jump.
