UK street artist D*Face (featured) recently stopped by Los Angeles to install some well-timed “Zombie Oscar Statues” last week. The two seven foot sculptures were installed in two locations – atop Runyon Canyon and in the parking lot of the famous Mel’s Drive-In in Hollywood near where the 82nd annual Academy Awards (Oscars) were being held at the Kodak Theatre. Our friend, Jeremy Kaplan (GM of Subliminal Projects) was along for the ride as D*Face worked his version Hollywood magic.
The two installations were explained in detail as NBC caught up with D*Face for an interview along with a news clip with some nice video footage (after the jump). Also check out some photos of the sculptures at the two locations and studio shots after the jump as well…
