On Saturday, Esao Andrews opened up his latest exhibition at Jonathan Levine Gallery with a new body of work consisting of some of his largest paintings to date. Utilizing his signature mix of creative story telling and darkly laid out characters/compositions, Mr. Andrews entertained the audience with a rich and complex show. Some paintings are hauntingly beautiful while others deceptively twisted. Regardless of your initial impression, it’s always worth it to take a second look at his works. You’ll be as surprised as us on what you may discover.
