It just wouldn’t be Art Basel Miami week without fantastical Floridians Friends With You. This year, the energetic and imaginative duo of Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandoval will be presenting Rainbow City, a large-scale outdoor installation that in their words addresses “the potency of interaction, ritual, and play.” Constructed in Miami’s Design District, the site-specific collection of 40 simple air-filled structures—some up to 40 feet high—are meant to embrace and tower over guests, creating a feeling of reverence. And to add to the excitement, Pharrell is rumored to be performing in Rainbow City on December 2nd.
If that weren’t enough, FWY will also have an art exhibit entitled Building Blocks, opening at OHWOW on December 2nd. The show will include a collection of paintings, as well as some of their sculptural pieces.
