Opening this Saturday at Brooklynite Gallery is “Unconventional Conviction,” the first solo show by Brooklynite’s own Rae McGrath. Stepping out from his role as the gallery’s owner and curator, RAE will now get to experience how the other half lives by exhibiting his own artwork. Rae’s work consists of pop-art mixed media pieces created from the vivid colored plastic and labels of laundry detergent bottles, as well as black and white photography of everyday people. The combination of styles exemplifies the energy and diversity of New York City, specifically Brooklyn where Rae grew up.
