Last night, New Image Art took over South Beach’s Cafeina for a group exhibition (teased) that should prove to be one of the more compelling events of Art Basel Week. As is often the case, Sao Paulo street art sensations Osgemeos stole the show with their heartfelt interpretations of their Brazilian countrymen, always dressed to impress in colorfully patterned attire. A selection of giant canvases, executed flawlessly with spray cans and incorporating the playful imagery and vibrant palette that has become patented by the Twins, were supported by strong work from Judith Supine, Cleon Peterson, Skullphone and Albert Reyes. All in all, an impressive curatorial effort from the Los Angeles based gallery.
Check out some nice opening photos after the jump.
