Building off last years illustrious Grand Prize Award from West Collection, Ryan McLennan is set to reveal his newest body of work with David B. Smith Gallery. Opening Friday, January 28th, along side Laura Ball (teased), New Works will continue Ryan’s playful, yet intelligent artistic narrative incorporating themes of ecology, natural history, and evolution. The cycle of life plays a pervasive role in his compositions as well, as diverse animal species interact together in bleak landscapes and grim scenarios within his expertly crafted acrylic and graphite works on paper. If the strength of his last solo a while back with Joshua Liner Gallery (covered) serves as foundation for this exhibition, some quality work should be on tap.
