In his second solo exhibition with Joshua Liner Gallery, Oliver Vernon will yet again seek to take art goers on a visceral journey with his unique artistic vision, where the laws of gravity don’t exist, and time and space are warped into a lucid whirlwind of color and movement. Opening this Thursday, April 14th, Sprung continues the signature psychedelic imagery exhibited during his first showing at the NYC gallery, Unexpected Occurrences (covered), yet this time draws upon a new bounty of inspiration provided by the natural landscape of his new home in Northern California. The metaphysical is now more than ever married with the physical, with the hills, forests, rivers and sky from his new backyard shining through. Ultimately, colors and craziness aside, it’s Vernon’s meticulous technical abilities that serve as the foundation for, and provide merit to, the ethereal ride.
