Although he is a highly successful artist and painter who exhibits in the finest galleries (like Gagosian) in the world, Richard Phillips is also well respected for his work in the fashion, media, and film worlds and has worked with such brands as Jimmy Choo, MAC Cosmetics, Mont Blanc, Colette and USM Furniture.
Today, at John McWhinnie at Glenn Horowitz Bookstore’s East Hampton location, an exhibition is opening that features the artist’s collaborative efforts with brands as well as other commercial works. The pieces range from album covers and posters to designer handbags and beach towels. They were created starting in 1999, but no such large-scale exhibition of their work has existed until now. Show opens 6pm on July 16.
