Openings: Osgemeos – “Fermata” @ Museu Vale (Brazil)

Words cannot begin to describe the wonderment and joy one feels when confronted by these photos of the new Osgemeos exhibition at the Museu Vale in Brazil. It seems the twins always seem to save their best for the museums in their home country (see Vertigo and Vertigem), as well they should. From the complex sculptural builds featuring intricate inclusions of various art items and paraphernalia, to the grand expansion of the well received multi-colored stripes seen in some of their recent work, to their signature characters popping in and out of the walls (painted and in sculptural form) mirroring their street work, to individual paintings that any Osgemeos fan would kill for, and just their imaginative imagery and use of space – one can argue this fresh new collection of works is their best to date.
