Agata Oleksiak aka Olek, who recently held a solo show in New York, took her guerrilla crocheting into the public domain several days ago in support of the Occupy Wall Street protests. Putting her knitting skills on overdrive, she covered the Alamo sculpture in NY, also known as the Astor Place Cube, with a colorful patchwork of yarn with embedded messages. This will not be her first high profile public intervention, if you remember, as she burst onto the scene last year by taking on the Wall Street charging bull statue.
