Last week, AM stopped by the Lazarides (Rathbone Place) gallery space in London as the Faile Collective (featured) unveiled a new body of work. Fragments of Faile included some strong new mixed block pieces that fans of the Patricks have been accustomed to, but what they had been keeping under wraps until shortly before the opening was a new direction in their creative output. The main floor housed novel portraiture work from the Brooklyn-based duo that featured a more painterly technique fused with textile patterns and the typography they are recognized for. Rounding out the exhibition was a set of silkscreened book covers similar to what was seen for their recent Post No Bills show in June.
