Last Friday, Exhibit A opened up its gallery doors to a multitude of artists all paying tribute to the legendary heavy metal band Metallica. Titled Obey Your Master, the exhibit featured artists such as Shepard Fairey, Travis Louie, David Stoupakis, Nicola Verlato, Brian Viveros, and Richard Villa III just to name a few. All the paintings and work of art on display were influenced by Metallica songs and it was clearly noticeable to see the respect that the artists had for their musical heroes. In addition the artwork, a limited number of skateboard decks were put on sale, with the proceedings going to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
