As the world prepared itself for the Academy Awards on Sunday by making their predictions and looking out for their favorite actors on the red carpet, the unofficial start of the weekend celebration of film and stars began with the opening reception of Terry Richardson’s first solo gallery show in Los Angeles. Transforming OHWOW into Terrywood, the famous photographer exhibited his works based on and inspired by Hollywood life and ideas. Each piece featured Richardson’s signature snapshot aesthetic and recognizable style.

Choosing to focus on such subjects as Hollywood’s local characters, In-n-Out burgers, and glamorous architectural details, Richardson’s usually identifiable high-profile figures seen in his portraits were not part of the works – but that doesn’t mean that they were absent.  Instead, they were in the gallery in-person and almost everywhere you looked.
