A project that was first hinted at here appears to have come to fruition in the Motor City. Selected photos include more from Reyes, Revok (seen above), 123Klan, Askew, Dabs Myla, Tristan Eaton, RISK, and Flying Fortress. For those interested, also check out a video […]

Showing: Ron Mueck @ Hauser & Wirth, London (Savile Row, South Gallery)

If you remember, we previewed the Ron Mueck exhibition at Hauser & Wirth, London (Saville Row, South Gallery) last month. Those familiar with Mueck’s hyperrealist style and playful distortions of scale will know his work needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The four-sculpture show closes on Saturday 26 May, so the terribly busy, the forgetful and the procrastinators still have a couple of days to check it out. Favourite pieces for AM are Still Life, a giant plucked chicken hanging by […]

The unique 12 foot piece featuring a moonlit forest scene is painted entirely on a mirror with some of it drifting onto the surrounding walls. Take a look below as Mear talks about his process and his thoughts behind this piece. […]

About the 12 works he created for the exhibition, the LA-based artist states – “In this show I continue the search for beauty in dark places. I love that uneasy twilight place between life and death, between reality and unreality, between hope and despair. I use the vocabulary of Vanitas and Catholic religious […]

The Morning After Paris print will be a very limited edition, available in person only at Opera Gallery Paris on June 23rd at 2PM – […]

Update: Dalek

Judging from this new ink piece from James Marshal aka Dalek (interviewed), he hasn’t completely killed off his space monkeys yet. Of course, his more abstract work also continues with an update of a mural he painted at the Hobie Surf Shop in Corona Del Mar, a completely new piece really. For those who still haven’t gotten enough after perusing the in-progress pics below, you can check out a video of the creation of the mural here. Discuss Dalek here.

Lucy McLauchlan just set up an installation at 48Sheet Gallery in Birmingham to benefit Sound It Out: a charity that strives to bring support and opportunities in music to deprived people in Birmingham and the West Midlands. This is part of the Tambourine Project in which artists and celebrities (which includes Ricky Gervais, Raymond Briggs, Helen Mirren, Stephen Fry, Eric Clapton and Log Roper) were asked to doodle on the instrument and have them auctioned off on Ebay (listings can be seen: here). The exhibition […]
