Starting today in New York, the sculptural work of Tom Sachs will be on display at the Park Avenue Armory. After seeing his meticulous handcrafted pieces at Sperone Westwater last year (covered) and hearing about this upcoming show, AM has been looking forward to SPACE PROGRAM: MARS where the hugh 45,000 square foot space will be transformed into an immersive space odyssey. Utilizing his signature bricolage technique Sachs engineers all the needed equipment of the imagined mission including exploratory vehicles, mission control, launch platforms, suiting stations, special effects, recreational amenities, and the Mars landscape.

The exhibition will be a sight to behold, but make sure you take advantage of the additional talks and performances associated with the event. More info here.
