Not content to just have his work displayed in an upmarket Shoreditch eatery (Tramshed Restaurant), British artist Damien Hirst has gone to the other end of the market and donated a piece of art to the Burger King in Leicester Square. The newly remodeled “Flameship” restaurant is located in the heart of London’s biggest tourist district which means visitors in town for the upcoming Olympics will come up close and personal with the spin painting. Not too close though – as the piece entitled Beautiful Psychedelic Gherkin Exploding Tomato Sauce All Over Your Face, Flame Grilled Painting 2003 is protected behind reinforced glass in the upstairs dining area.
