Tonight at the Known Gallery in Los Angeles, two of the area’s most respected writers will be putting on a joint show. SABER (interviewed), who recently was in the UK for a group exhibition where he added the Union Jack to his series of flag interpretations, will be presenting a new body of work entitled Beautification featuring his kinetic strokes of color overlaid on depictions of urban landscape. At his side will be fellow MSK brother REVOK, whose pieces for this show we touched on in a previous “process” article. Gilgamesh will be a continuation of his series of mixed media assemblages created from found materials gleaned the dilapidated and rundown wastelands of Detroit, transforming those symbols of despair into something beautiful. The opening is from 8-11 pm – judging from these photos from Bobby Hundreds who stopped by for an early look, you don’t want to miss this.
