Last Friday evening, Spoke Art hosted Jessica Hess’s latest exhibition, Fade and Finish. With this body of work, she explored using gouache on paper (as opposed to predominately oil on canvas paintings in previous exhibitions) and depicted urban landscapes in both daylight and moonlight. In this show, she also explored realistically depicting texture that is inspired by wheat pastes in New York, as well as pinup images that grew out of her love of vintage radio and movies.
