Last Saturday night, Mel Kadel unveiled new works for her Stuck On A Wave solo during an opening reception at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Showing alongside the cosmic and pattered work of Mark Whalen, the Los Angeles-based Kadel’s imagery also featured patterns of her own, oftentimes backdrops of collaged repeating elements for her characters to play in. As we mentioned last month, Shepard Fairey (featured) will be opening a show at the StolenSpace Gallery in London entitled Sound and Vision. Looks like he made an early trek across the pond to work on some large-scale public murals of his distinctive imagery including this new piece on Ebor Street in East London.
