On November 13th, Andy Valmorbida once again returns to NYC’s meatpacking district to present Beyond Elegance, a pop-up exhibition of art work by Todd “REAS” James and Alexis Ross. James – hot off his show Free to Be You & Me at Copenhagen’s V1 Gallery – will keep the momentum going with a new series of large-scale canvases featuring his characteristic cartoon portrayals of Somali pirates and curvaceous ladies. LA-based artist Ross – who collaborated with James, Barry McGee, Steve Powers and others on the Street Market installation for MOCA’s Art in the Streets exhibition – paints in a vintage illustrative style that will nicely compliment James’. The opening for Beyond Elegance will take place November 13th, 6-9pm at 560 Washington Street, the same space where Valmorbida had his pop-ups for Retna and Futura.
