During Frieze Week, Pace Gallery held the much anticipated opening for Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. The solo exhibition is Nara’s first with the blue chip gallery since joining its esteemed roster in 2011. For his first return to New York City after his comprehensive retrospective at the Asia Society, the Nara pulled no stops and displayed a well-rounded series that included works on canvas, bronze, and paper. Also this body of work included pieces that made it from his Japanese museum exhibitions at theĀ  Yokohama Museum of Art, Aomori Museum of Art and Contemporary Art Museum Kumamoto. This great exhibition is on view until June 29th, so if you’re in New York City make some time to stop by.
