Frieze London is one of the world’s leading art fairs and this year it took place from the 17th – 20th of October in Regent’s Park. For its 11th edition, the fair hosted 152 galleries which attracted around 70,000 during the six days of the opening of both Frieze London and Frieze Masters. To enhance visitor experience at Frieze London, capacity was reduced this year, and for the first time, tickets sold out every day. Showing both artworks by the world’s biggest names in contemporary art, along with works of young emerging artists, the show offered something for both those looking for a specific name or work, and ones looking for fresh names and ideas. With site specific installations, video projections, various forms of sculptural works, drawings, paintings, printmaking and the combination of any of those mediums, the fair was buzzing nonstop during its duration. Artists, gallerists, collectors, advisers, investors and publishers all found the fair to be an excellent networking and meeting place for everyone involved. Along with individual visitors and exhibitors, the fair had strong institutional attendance, with over 80 groups from the world’s major museums, including those from Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain.
