AM recently visited Mary Iverson in her studio leading up to the open of her Sunk exhibition. With the work complete, it was time to take it to the masses at Davidson Galleries in Seattle. The large landscapes filled the space with nature, but the veil of over-population and consumerism permeated the scenes as etched lines and shipping containers. There are also some smaller mixed media pieces which tackled the climate change topic and the inevitable rise of the worlds oceans. To cap it off, several water color paintings dotted the wall. which were painted on location as Mary traveled the western states in search of reference material.
Sunk can be seen at Davidson Galleries in Seattle until November 30th.
