Last week, during Armory Week, Brooklyn-based artist Logan Hicks held a fresh exhibition at PMM Art Projects‘ pop-up location on NYC’s Lower East Side. Entitled Love Never Saved Anything, Hicks’ new show seems to be exploring underwater elements as the subject matter, with much success. He has brought another dimension of detail and color in this body of work, which takes his signature stencil technique to a whole new level. Another surprise in the exhibition is the second level of the gallery, which showcases Hicks’ photography. We’ve long known that he takes numerous studies of his subject matter prior to creating and cutting his stencils, but seeing this tightly curated group of photos sheds light on his wonderful eye and his ambitious nature of exploration to get that perfect shot.

On Sunday March 16th, Logan Hicks will be giving a talk at 4pm at the gallery, which is located at 154 Stanton street.
