Last week, just prior to the opening of the Frieze Art Fair in London, the Paul Stolper Gallery hosted the opening for a new solo from Damien Hirst. Consisting of sculptural works and screen prints of medical paraphernalia including medicine bottles, pharmaceutical boxes, ampoules, syringes, a scalpel, and drug packaging all blown up to larger scale, fans can see how this body of work entitled SCHIZOPHRENOGENESIS is an extension of his pill cabinet installations.

Hirst further states – “Pills are a brilliant little form, better than any minimalist art. They’re all designed to make you buy them… they come out of flowers, plants, things from the ground, and they make you feel good, you know, to just have a pill, to feel beauty.”
