Coming up on Halloween, Candice Tripp (interviewed) will making a side project available for purchase. These Houses Of Horror may be recognizable to astute fans out there as from movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street (seen above), The Omen, Let’s Scare Jessica to Death, House of the Devil, Suspira, The Birds, and more. Last week, just prior to the opening of the Frieze Art Fair in London, the Paul Stolper Gallery hosted the opening for a new solo from Damien Hirst. Consisting of sculptural works and screen prints of medical paraphernalia including medicine bottles, pharmaceutical boxes, ampoules, syringes, a scalpel, and drug packaging all blown up to larger scale, fans can see how this body of work entitled SCHIZOPHRENOGENESIS is an extension of his pill cabinet installations. Streets: Pejac (Spain)

Recently, street muralist Pejac (Art Focus) painted at a unique location just off the the shores of Canabria in northern Spain. Paying tribute to a famous Monet painting, Impression, Sunrise, the locally based artist recreated the image on the barnacled hull of an old ship. Viewers of the piece can enjoy different perspectives as the tide rises and falls against the corroded “canvas” that Pejac used. Openings: CT Nelson – “Thick With Instinct” @ Knew Conscious Gallery

AM was on hand at Knew Conscious for the October 11th opening of Thick With Instinct, the latest work from Denver artist CT Nelson. This is his third solo show in as many years at the gallery, and as with previous years, fans will note his signature raging fields of flowing lights and haunting imagery. One of the stars of the Denver art scene, his annual show always draws a big crowd of enthusiastic viewers. The show is on display now through November 7th.

Coming up in the middle of next month, CHG Circa will be presenting new works from Nate Frizzell (interviewed). Dark Was The Night will be his first solo with the gallery and the first in Los Angeles since the beginning of last year (covered). Over the weekend, painter Luke Chueh (featured) presented a new body of work to his collectors in Los Angeles entitled Self-ish. The show at CHG Circa featured a continuation of one of his most recognizable series, the “You Are What You Eat” works, overlaid with some of his self portrait elements. With this latest edition of our Streets: World Roundup article, we turn our eyes to Las Vegas for our featured mural from ROA. The Belgium-based artist withstood the desert heat for four days of hard work before completing this piece with the image of a horny toad, a local species that can squirt blood out of its eyes to deter predators.
