Set to open his first solo exhibition tomorrow with Joshua Liner GalleryAlfred Steiner welcomed us into his laboratory in Chelsea. The American artist has long been on our radar with his amazingly realistic watercolors and creative approach to assembling iconic symbols & images based on the long standing Freudian technique of free association. On every piece he creates, the viewer will likely find something memorable and thought provoking. Entitled Likelihood of Confusion, this new body of work will not only include his signature watercolors, but also two oil fiberboards that we saw in this year’s Volta art fair. Of course, there will be a special work from his shining “Paparazzi series” (3M based reflective artwork) that will meld Louis Vuitton with an infamous public incident involving the “Louis Vuitton Don”.
