Favio Martínez aka Curiot is opening his first solo show in his homeland at Fifty24Mx gallery in Mexico City on the 14th of June. He is currently one of the more recognized urban artists of the country, with shows in Europe and USA under his belt, as well as large murals being painted around the world. Last week, the first POW! WOW! Taiwan wrapped up successfully as invited artists finished public works throughout the capital city of Taipei. Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format. On June 14th at a special popup location (10000 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232), Corey Helford Gallery will be presenting a new body of work from Brandi Milne. The new paintings have been in the works for almost 2 years with each piece drawing from difficult personal experiences from the Los Angeles area-based artist. Tonight in Seattle, Winston Wächter Fine Art will be opening a solo show from Zaria Forman, who we featured in an Art Focus article earlier this year. The exhibition holds special meaning for the Brooklyn-based artist, as her exquisite paintings will be shown alongside the photographs of her late mother, Rena Bass Forman. Titled Raiden－EX1, this mural features another one of his wild cats, this time blending in with the busy traffic in the legislative capital of South Africa.
