Coming up on October 31st, Takashi Murakami will be unveiling his first solo exhibition in Japan in over 14 years. The title The 500 Arhats at the Mori Art Museum references the piece that will be the showstopper, a 100-meter-long painting which was created as a thank you to the nation of Qatar, one of the first to offer assistance after the earthquake and tsunami in 2011 in Japan. Along with this massive piece, the Japanese originator of the Superflat movement will be preparing other paintings and sculptural works.
