Some 10 days before the official start of Basel Week Miami in Florida, Copro Gallery has introduced two new works by Jeff Gillette, created exclusively for this occasion. The originator of Dismayland concept (covered), created two paintings influenced by his recent participation in Banksy’s Dismaland (covered).
The first piece titled Dismaland Castle depicets a post-apocalyptic Dismaland setting. With the infamous torn down Disney castle in the center, WSM seaside in the back, and the entire area being covered with rubbish and slum-like constructions, it looks like a bad case future scenario to say the least. The piece titled Dismal Sign features a large, falling apart sign for Disneyland, rising above the endless pile of trash with a flock of colorful Disney like birds flying over it. Both measuring 29″ x 45″ these pieces are acrylic on canvas, and will be on view at SCOPE Miami from December 1-6 at Copro’s booth A21.
