Earlier this month, Chandran Gallery in San Francisco opened a show curated by Andrew Schoultz entitled Major Work. The locally-based artist carefully selected a roster of participants that included himself, Alicia McCarthy, Aaron Noble, Kelsey Brookes, Revok, James Marshall (Dalek), Sam Friedman, Eric Yahnker, Mark Dean Veca, Saber, Hilary Pecis, Tim Biskup, Eric White, and Allison Schulnik. The premise behind the exhibition was for each artist to contribute a large-scale piece that they felt capture the essence of their work. The resulting show was quite stunning, as evidenced by the piece seen above from Friedman as well as from the rest of the artists.
