Last month, Peter Baracchi opened a new show at the Zurich location of SOON Gallery entitled This Never Happened. The title references nicely the nature of the locally-based artist’s work which is inspired by the graffiti buffs in Switzerland. The country is known to be neat, clean, and tidy place and so it is, the painting over of illegal tags and art on the streets is done with tape to get perfectly straight lines resulting in strange geometric shapes. Baracchi has taken photographs of this over the years, which he has used to recreate in original size and color onto hand-made concrete panels.
