Castor Gallery in New York is currently running the last week of a solo show by Gregory Thielker. Between Here and Now features eight original hyperrealist works and a video installation showing examples of his Under the Unminding Sky or “windshield paintings” series that he’s been working on for the last decade or so. Currently in Beers London, new paintings collectively entitled Turning The Tide from Jenny Morgan are on view through April 23rd. The exhibition is the Brooklyn-based artist’s first solo in the UK and introduces her vivid portraits featuring her signature saturated color choices, paired with toned-down grays. Coming up on April 9th, Kelsey Brookes will be opening a new show in Malibu, California at Compound Project. The exhibition will feature a new series of works that feature his psychedelic abstract patterns and interest in scientific matters. Created in proportion to the growth of the Fibonacci sequence onto a surface shaped in proportion to the golden ratio, the new paintings look to take things to the next level. Andy Rementer is currently taking part in a double personal exhibition with Fulvia Mendini at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea in Milan. There’s a hole in the ground and it’s playing your song is the name of a new etching that Candice Tripp (interviewed) recently released. The limited edition (run of 25) has been in the works for quite a while but after several months, two plates, three test proofs and a lot of cramping, it is ready for purchase. Street: Herakut (Los Angeles)

Leading up to the opening of their solo show this weekend at Corey Helford Gallery, Herakut painted a new mural featuring their signature mix of photorealistic and abstract elements. The new piece on the side of the gallery was painted next something Ron English put up and you can definitely see that what they chose to paint was partially in reaction to that. Earlier this month, the POW! WOW! crew spent a second year (see 2015) at SXSW painting murals for festival goers to enjoy.
