Pace Prints just announced their newest print release with KAWS. Man’s Best Friend is a monumental set of 10 black and white screenprints, similar to the installation shown at his 2014 show at Honor Fraser Gallery (covered).
Based on Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts, the prints are KAWS’ take on the popular cartoon. By combining macro views of lines that comprise of the forms of Snoopy, Woodstock and friends, along with his signature XX, the Brooklyn-based artist created appealing abstract images. Five prints are produced in a “regular” black on white colorway, and five are negatives, like some of his most iconic, early editions. The portfolio will be released at Art Basel Hong Kong starting March 22, Booth 1B32, as well as at Pace Prints Chelsea, 521 West 26th Street, starting at noon EST on March 22. Each print measures 35 x 23 inches and the set will be available in an edition of 100.
