Galeri Benoni in Copenhagen will be opening a solo show by Marco Mazzoni on May 13th. The Italian artist famous for his peculiar color pencil drawings on Moleskine paper will be introducing a new body of work titled Monism.
The new pieces explore the negative aspects of collectivity and social evolution. Aware of the constant change that modifies our world and our lives, the Italian artist critically looks back towards a famous quote by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa from his novel Gattopardo – “If we want everything to remain as it is, everything has to change.” With this in mind, Mazzoni compares the modern day life and its changes with our dependence and connection with nature as well as its evolutionary process.
