On September 29th Martin Whatson will be opening his first ever solo show in LA, at yet undisclosed location. Revive is set to be his largest and most elaborate exhibition to date, with several installations and brand new paintings and will stay on view until October 8th.
Through his recognizable visual language, Norwegian artists mixes explosive, colorful, graffiti-based sections against stenciled grey scale, often vintage motifs or flea market paintings or objects. Animals, famous people or parts of well known paintings, are all challenged with his vibrant mixture of classic and urban. Highly collectible and with public works in London, Paris, New-York, Las Vegas, Miami, Tokyo, Whatson is surely one of the most recognized names in the contemporary street art scene. The whos is curated by Rex Romae‘s Rom Levy and supported by LeBasse Projects, and marks a new phase in the artist’s creative direction.
