Showing at the just opened Creatura House in Seattle, Travis Louie (interviewed) currently has a small selection of paintings and drawings on view. Entitled The Present Past, the exhibition at the former Roq La Rue owner Kirsten Anderson’s new gallery features Louie’s depiction of endangered animals in his vintage photo-like Victorian style. For the first time, he has painted the eyes in color “illuminating that these species are still alive and need support and protection.” A portion of the proceeds will go towards Anderson’s non-profit – Creatura Wildlife Projects.
