Last weekend, YESNIK and Jaybo presented some new works for fans in Los Angeles with a surprisingly cohesive three day pop up show. Presented by F-U (For the Unconventional), For Better or Worse featured totemic nature-inspired works from the San Diego-based YESNIK that had a collage-like feel to the balanced compositions alongside Berlin-based Jaybo Monk’s portrait mashups which were described as “a fractured vision of contemporary society.” Both artists contributed sculptural pieces to exhibition – an eclectic selection of assemblages from Jaybo and some large-scale three dimensional representations of YESNIK’s imagery for those wondering how it would feel to walk into his paintings and look at his creations from all directions.
