Following up on his show at Perrotin (Hong Kong) at the end of last year, Barry McGee is opening a solo at the gallery’s Tokyo space today. Entitled Potato Sack Body, the exhibition features many of the San Francisco-based artist’s familiar caricatures, geometric patterns, and text rendered on a series of multi-panel paintings, framed works, individually painted ceramics and bottles, and repurposed found objects. In association with this showing, McGee will be releasing a new zine as well as collaborating with BEAMS to release a range of limited edition merchandise with a pop-up store in its Harajuku flagship location.
