For their annual TIME 100 issue, the news magazine decided to pivot their focus to COVID-19 by asking their TIME  100 alumns to share any for insights on some of the challenges of what we are all facing in navigating the new realities of the pandemic. Participants this year include Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, and as you can see from the cover, artist JR (interviewed), a 2018 TIME  100 honoree.

The French street artist, who had the coronavirus himself weeks ago and has recovered, decided to create a 15 x 21 foot pavement piece on an empty Paris street. The figure peeking through the blinds (which almost looks like a crosswalk) as usual combines JR’s photography skills and street technique, created by pasting long strips quickly early in the morning on a quiet street in the 19th arrondissement.
