AM was on hand at the opening of SÃo Paulo at Scion Installation LA this past Saturday. The show was curated by Choque Cultural in association with Jonathan LeVine and features work from some of Brazil’s best: Calma, Carlos Dias, MZK, Ramon Martins, Silvana Mello, Speto, Titi Freak and Zezão.
Normally a white-walled gallery space, Scion Installation LA was completely transformed by the artists, each adding their own unique touch of SÃo Paulo’s color, vibrancy, grittiness, and energy with work that had influences of street art, underground culture, Brazilian heritage, and religion.
Titi Freak’s work absolutely stole the show for us, with a huge painting depicting his signature-style, it was rich in texture, pattern, and color. He also took some time out to show us his champion yo-yo skills, seen in the video below.
Check out the work from all the artists and the rest of the photos from the opening after the jump.
The show runs through March 28th.
