In a continuing effort to provide their members with enriching live cultural experiences that range from fine art to film, Soho House hosts talks and screenings, recently with such influential and creative figures as Mr. Chow, Jeffrey Deitch, and Francois Vogel. Last week at their West Hollywood club, award winning filmmaker PES shared with the audience some of his favorite short films and commercials by other creators while interspersing a collection of his own studio work. The curated selection provided a valuable look at what inspired and influenced the animator.
Much of those who came that night were familiar with the artist’s output and were prepared to ask insightful questions, such as his process (most of his shorts take months to complete), thoughts on 3D, and future projects. The good news for his fans and for those nostalgic folk yearning for a feature film about the Garbage Pail Kids is that he has been chosen to direct the set of iconic characters’ upcoming movie. Check out more shorts by the popular PES below and see why he has such a devoted following. We are very much looking forward to future Soho House events.
