During Art Basel Week, numerous artists trek to Miami to set up artistic pop-up projects. One of our favorites this year was by the Brooklyn-based Faile and Bast. They brought their nostalgic arcade-based exhibition entitled Deluxx Fluxx to entertain both the eyes and souls of patrons that stopped by their fresh throwback arcade.
As previewed in our studio visit, this collaborative project with Perrier is now in it’s third iteration (version 1.0 in London & 2.0 in NYC) and it continued to push the envelope. It wasn’t just the classic arcade games reprogrammed with Faile & Bast specific artwork and game play, but the introduction of custom built and painted pinball machines that took this project to a new level. To complete the throwback feel, they even invited attendees to a competition of skill and gave away specially made silkscreens for winners of tournament play. Check out the amazing details below.
