Currently in Beers London, new paintings collectively entitled Turning The Tide from Jenny Morgan are on view through April 23rd. The exhibition is the Brooklyn-based artist’s first solo in the UK and introduces her vivid portraits featuring her signature saturated color choices, paired with toned-down grays. The contrast between the two palettes mirror the duality of the human psyche, a paradox of opposites – light and dark, good and evil, confident and vulnerable. This inner struggle is rendered beautifully in the faces of her subjects and is also referenced by the title of the show which draws its name from the moon, bringing to mind dualisms like the highs and lows of the tides, eclipses, as well as day and night.
