Continuing to capitalize on the demand for his commercial work, Ryan McGinley recently shot Brad Pitt for a feature in GQ magazine. Hitting three national parks (The Everglades, White Sands, and Carlsbad Caverns) on a epic cross county road trip shoot like the ones he is famous for, the New York-based photographer used his unique talents to catch candid images of the famous actor. Examples of McGinley’s signature use of light and motion, penchant for capturing raw images of humans interacting with nature, and compositional style that highlights how small humans are when juxtaposed against the natural landscape that is evident in his gallery work can also be seen in the resulting photos.
