Openings: Doze Green – “Out of Knowhere” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

A couple weeks ago, Doze Green presented a series new works at Jonathan LeVine Gallery entitled Out of Knowhere, his fifth showing with the Chelsea showspace. Along with new canvas paintings featuring his fusion of abstraction and cubism, the New York-born and California-based artist included a selection of monochromatic drawings on paper that represent his friends and mentors, people from NY street culture who influenced his life’s path greatly. Basel Week Miami ’14 / Previews: Thinkspace @ SCOPE

José Parlá for One World Trade Center

Continuing to make his mark in New York with high profile projects (also see Barclays Center & BAM), José Parlá recently unveiled a new mural in the One World Trade Center. The 1776 feet tall building in Manhattan took 13 years of construction and cost $3.9 billion, and stands near where the Twin Towers collapsed after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Customs: Joe Ledbetter – Dissected Mutant Bunny

Ever since when he started in 2011, Joe Ledbetter has continually adding to his custom painted Mutant Bunny series (examples here, here, and here). Featuring arguably the Los Angeles-based artist’s most beloved character, each of these art objects have been painstakingly painted in creative manifestations of the original form, sometimes mirrored in paintings past or future. Upcoming: KAWS – “Permanent Vacation” @ Eden Rock Gallery

As fans in his home country prep for the Thanksgiving holiday, KAWS is currently in St. Barths, where he has frequently vacationed in the past, getting ready for a showing at the Eden Rock Gallery opening on November 28th. Streets: Rostarr for The Standard (NYC) – Part I

Currently in New York, gifted urban calligrapher Rostarr is working on a rooftop mural for The Standard Hotel. The piece, when completed, will be a welcome addition to the visual landscape associated with the high traffic High Line pedestrian walkway. Fashion: James Jean x Big Bad Wolf Tee Release

Showing: Nicoletta Ceccoli – “Sweet & Low” @ AFA (New York)

Almost two years after her last show in New York, Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) has unveiled new paintings at AFA NYC. Entitled Sweet & Low, the fresh body of work continues the exploration of her delicate female characters in a land of dessert. As seen commonly in the San Marino-based painter and illustrator’s work, the innocence of the setting is balanced by an undercurrent of dark themes seen when her imagery is examined more closely. Releases: Luke Chueh – “Boba Fett” Figure @ FLABSLAB

On November 21st, Luke Chueh (featured) will be releasing a figure based on his popular Boba Fett image, his ingenious combination of a popular Chinese drink and the fortuitously similarly named Star Wars character.
