Streets: Interseni Kazki (India)

Globetrotting Ukranian duo, Interesni Kazki, who just had a solo showing in Los Angeles (covered), have apparently made their way over to India for some fun. Ron English – Barack Obama x Hulk & Fat Tony Sculpt

Playing to his strengths of appropriating pop culture for his own unique creations, Ron English (featured) has recently revealed two projects he has been working on. The first is the melding of Barack Obama and The Incredible Hulk into one amazing sculpt although we aren’t quite sure what the message is. We lead off this week’s street roundup from around the globe with this new piece from Mobstr with another one of his witty one-liners. Art Focus: Ethan Murrow

Boston-based Ethan Murrow works in large-scale graphite drawings and is the subject of our Art Focus for this week. The full time Graduate and Undergraduate Faculty in Painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Beantown bases his imagery on collaborative work with his wife, where she films, photographs and directs him in performances.  In fact, his short film Dust was an official selection of the 2008 New York Film Festival. Releases: Amy Sol – “Water Dragon” Print

Amy Sol (interviewed), who has a Los Angeles solo coming up in March, is also releasing a new print appropriately in this new year of the dragon. The image, Water Dragon, is from a piece she did for the the New Moon group exhibition early last year and will be reincarnated as a limited edition giclee (edition 50) scheduled for release tomorrow, January 28th, at 2pm pacific time in her online store. Openings: LUDO – “Nature’s Revenge” @ Wunderkammern Gallery

After a showing in Amsterdam last November, LUDO (interviewed) continues his exploration of his Nature’s Revenge theme with a new exhibition in Rome. Opening its doors to a new body of work last weekend, Wunderkammern Gallery was taken over by the Parisian street artist’s vengeful creatures in the form of his ad interventions, sculptures, paper pieces, and pastes over found objects. “Fresh Kills” @ Anonymous Gallery (Mexico)

The Anonymous Gallery kicked off their Mexico City location with a bang with a recently closed group show – Fresh Kills. The title of the showing refers to the 2,200 acres in New York known as Fresh Kills Landfill that will be converted to a huge public park over the course of the next 30 years. Streets / Update: Escif (Part II)

On a torrid pace since our update only a week ago, Spanish street artist Escif has uploaded many new walls for his fans’ viewing pleasure. Painting with imagery that possesses a simplicity yet curious touch that makes the viewer wonder what the back story is or what the artist is trying to get across, the Valencia-based muralist continues to plaster his homebase with his work, sometimes accompanied with a short phrase or word. Videos: Tim Biskup for Mastodon’s “Dry Bone Valley” Music Video

Continuing to show an appreciation for a genre of art that AM also appreciates, Mastodon recently released their Tim Biskup (featured) directed Dry Bone Valley music video from their album The Hunter (which featured cover design from A.J. Fosik). The video which premiered on Boing Boing, also featured animation and the signature pixelated creatures from the LA-based artist. Discuss Tim Biskup here.
