Josh Agle (SHAG) (interviewed) will be opening his third solo exhibition at the NY gallery entitled “Ambergris” featuring over a dozen original acrylic paintings on panel as well as three large-scale giclee editions on canvas. Our friend Jeff Soto’s (featured) just sent over photos of some of his escapades in Miami with his old graffiti partner Maxx242. In town for Art Basel Week (he is painting a mural for Wynwood Walls and is listed for Primary Flight), you can be sure the Sotofish sure knows how to have a good time (see last year).  Stay away from the alligators this time! Releases: Swoon – “Zahra” Project

Our friends over at Papermonster hipped us to a new release they are working on for tomorrow (Thursday Dec. 2nd) around noon in New York. The “Zahra” project is based on one of Swoon’s (interviewed) most iconic images and will be limited to 31 variants. What makes this special is that each unique piece consists of elements of intricately cut Japanese paper “built” onto a collage of various types of papers, card stock, sketches, fabric and wood scraps. Basel Week Miami ’10 – Emmanuel Perrotin Private View and Dinner

One of the first things we did yesterday when we arrived in Miami was attend the Emmanuel Perrotin party and opening reception at their gallery space. The event centered around Daniel Arsham’s sixth solo exhibition, Alter, with three new body of works – Objects from Antiquity, Push Puppets and Pixel Clouds. Other works from the gallery’s impressive roster of artists surrounded the AM crew as well as we enjoyed some art gazing, dinner, and mingling with other like-minded attendees to kick off our Art Basel […]

It looks like Mr. Gaia is getting things started down in Miami with this piece on 14th Street. The hybrid owl-human-rabbit looks similar to a piece he did for All City Block Party recently and has been layered on top of some Dick Chicken and Shark Toof (you can see this better after the jump…)

Kaws waxes philosphical in this new video from Nowness in their series of artist interviews for this year’s Art Basel. As he talks about life, we get a glimpse at some new work featuring some bold new colors heading out to different shows at this year’s fair including OHWOW’s group show and Emmanuel Perrotin’s booth. Our friend Jasper Wong stopped by the “Trespass” book release and signing a couple weeks ago at the Beverly Hills outpost of Taschen and snapped some pics for us.
